Meet the Staff

  • don akehurst

    Co-owner of the Sovereign and a native of Creemore, Don began working for Geza, the original owner of the Sovereign Restaurant. He was trained by Micklof Havensac, then head chef of the Sovereign. He has a degree in Business Administration and has spent the past 13 years in the hospitality industry. Since taking over the restaurant in April 2010, Don has made some positive changes to the restaurant including updating the menu and wine list, selections of fresh local produce and meats, and refreshing of the dining areas.     #
